The Hon’ble Governor graciously approved the creation of a total of 17 teaching and non-

undergraduate level under the Faculty of Arts. These posts were sanctioned through the
relevant Government Order either from the date of issue of the order or the date of
appointment, whichever was later, up to 28 February 2017. Accordingly, regular posts of
Principal, one Assistant Professor in each subject, Assistant Librarian, Head Assistant, Senior
Assistant, and Junior Assistant were sanctioned. Approval was also granted for

remains vacant.
The admission process for B.A. First Year commenced in July 2016 itself, in which a total of 41 students took admission as regular students. Due to the non-availability of physical infrastructure such as a permanent building, classes were initially conducted in the Barat Ghar provided by Gram Sabha Kainchhu and in the building provided by Government Inter College Kamand. Subsequently, arrangements for three additional classrooms were made for B.A. Second and B.A. Third Year classes.
It is a matter of great pride that, under Government Order No. 413(1)/XXIV/2019- 16(08)2018 dated 04 July 2019, the Education Department, Kamand, Tehri Garhwal, provided a total of 1.005 hectares of land for the construction of the college building. At present, the college is functioning in its own building. While only 41 students enrolled in the college in the year 2016, the student strength increased progressively from 2017 to 2025 to 53, 78, 114, 171, 177, and 115 respectively.
The examination results of the college have consistently remained between 80% and 90%
The first batch of the college passed out in the academic session 2018–19, and so far, six
batches have successfully graduated.
With the objective of ensuring the holistic development of students, a National Service Scheme (NSS) unit comprising 100 students was established through the special personal efforts of the Principal Madam. This was done in accordance with Letter No. 179/XXIV- (9)/National Service Scheme/15(10) dated 08 September 2022 issued by the State NSS Office and after approval by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University. At present, along with NSS, the participation of students in Rovers-Rangers, Red Cross, sports, and cultural activities is highly commendable.
In response to the demands of students and parents, a study centre of Uttarakhand Open
University has also been established in the college from the academic session 2024–25,
enabling students to benefit from dual degree programmes.
In accordance with the aspirations of students and the local community, there was a strong
need for a Faculty of Science in Kamand. Collective efforts were made in this direction, and
ultimately, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand announced the opening of the Science
Faculty. Consequently, the Government and the Directorate have initiated the process for
establishing the Science Faculty. It is expected that the construction process for the Science
Faculty building will also begin soon.
At present, the college is steadily progressing on the path of continuous growth and
development.
